Tomaz Teran Barbarossa (2016)

Klaudio and Daniella Tomaz is a young couple with 8 hectares of their own vineyards and another 10 on lease. The town of Motovun has a long wine tradition but for a long time the coop only focused on mass production. The Tomaz couple makes terroir driven wines and they want to make their personal style of Teran.

Its characteristic ruby red colour is intertwined with violet hues while swirling the glass. Its aroma is fine, pronounced and recognizable, typically fruity dominated by ripe raspberry. Relatively high content of total acids and a certain hint of bitterness nested in a high extract provides this wine with a characteristic taste of a full, strong, robust and yet pleasantly paired wine.

Food pairing: Perfect match with red meat, goat cheeses or grilled tuna steaks.
