Iločki Podrumi (ILOK CELLARS) are located on the right bank of the river Danube, in the most easterly located town of Republic of Croatia, in Ilok, the town of antiques and wines. Here, they continue the two thousand year old tradition of vine cultivation and wine production of high quality wines from local varieties planted on vineyard sites covering the wavy plateaux of Western slopes of the Fruška Gora Mountain, heading towards the mighty Danube.
This quality dry white wine has a beautiful light yellow colour. It comes from a grape that produces aromatic and very floral wines. True to its origins the wine immediately announces itself in the glass with a fanfare of powerful and sensual aromas of roses, peache, ginger, honey and orange blossom. On the plate this wine is very elegant, fresh and crisp, harmonious and soft with purity and balance on the finish that gives it a very special presence.
The 1947 vintage of this same wine was served at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Since then, Iločki Podrumi Traminac has been held in the Royal Family’s wine collection and wine archive.
