Gruda winery was built in 1963 with capacity of 250 wagons of space at state of the art technological solutions, and on several occasions they modernized and expanded the capacity to today’s 750 wagons. After the Homeland War, the burnt down and pillaged winery in Gruda was renewed, just like the vineyards dilapidated and destroyed in the war. After the privatization in 2000, today’s Dubrovacki podrumi in Konavosko polje that connects the Gornja banda with Donja banda grow their 35 hectares of renewed vineyards and 70 more hectares in cooperation with vintners from Konavle region.
High quality wine made from grapes of vintage Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards planted in 1977 on the fields of the Konavle valley. The wine is nurtured for months in new oak barrels in order to keep the maximum naturity and filled in bottles without filtering. The wine has a fine red color, while the fresh smell is dominated by the aroma of red fruit, black currant, chocolate and vanilla. Its taste is seductively fresnd, full body with a long fruit aftertaste.
Food pairing: meat dishes and fine fish accompanied with rich and strong sauces.

Historically, viticulture has since ever been the leading economy for the local family and for the community. The Dubrovnik Republic paid true attention to it, as can be seen from a 1424 A.D. decree defining the prices of the wine, with the exception of the Malvasija produced in Konavle to which no limits were set. The company's experts have striven to revive the historically vital sort on the plantations that suffered immense damages in the war, aiming to restore this so precious sort and to reinstall it back on the local and international markets.
Presently the Dubrovački podrumi dd has 35 hectares of the renewed vineyards and about 70 hectares of vineyards in cooperation with the local wine growers. The following wines are produced: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Ragusa white, Ragusa red, Plavac, Kadarun, Merlotina & Trajectum
