Ðordano Peršurić is a non-typical Istrian winemaker, primarily because he has been producing sparkling wines only. Even more unusual is the fact that he has managed to rise to the top of the national wine industry in the field of these very demanding and sensitive wines, almost entirely dominated by the producers from the northern part of Croatia. Peršurić' s prize-winning sparkling wines have been made following the traditional system of aging in bottles applied to the well-known champagnes originating from the French province of Champagne.
Creating the recognizable name of "Misal" over the years, today they may proudly say that they are one of the largest producers of natural sparkling vines in Croatia. The annual production increased several times over, so they now produce and bottle about 40 thousand bottles of sparkling vine yearly. The Persuric family uses a special yeast strain from Epernay for their sparkling wine. When they began making sparkling wine, they were fortunate to have friends from Champagne who could help and advise them with any difficulties.
Misal Millennium brut is their first and the most represented product based on Istrian Malvasia, with the addition of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It's fresh and vibrant sparkling wine which combine excellent body and a full, creamy texture.
